Male bees create their own perfume to attract females.

German biologists have found out why male orchid bees collect molecules of odorous substances from flowers in a special pouch on their hind legs. This behavior has been known since the 1960s, but there was no explanation for it. Now it turned out that this is how insects create their own scent, which attracts females during the mating season.
