Artificial meteor showers.

The Japanese corporation ALE will launch a satellite into orbit in 2025, the only purpose of which is to create artificial meteor showers. The satellite will release bursts of tiny metal particles that, according to the creators, are harmless, but completely simulate a meteor shower for observers from Earth. The goal is called "Creating an opportunity for every inhabitant of the planet to enjoy one of the most beautiful natural processes."
