A lethal fungus for plants first infected humans.

A 61-year-old man from India fell victim to a fungus that was previously considered dangerous only for plants. He complained of coughing, hoarseness, difficulty swallowing and constant fatigue. Eventually, doctors found Chondrostereum purpureum in his trachea, causing the abscess. The patient was miraculously cured without complications, and now doctors are trying to figure out how he managed to get infected.
