Birds in flight are guided by the stars.

At least some of them. Scientists placed Indigo birds in a planetarium and confirmed that in their annual migrations they navigate by the sun during the day and by the stars at night, calculating the north from the pattern of the constellations. This was confirmed by an experiment - in it, inside the planetarium, the Polar Star was replaced by Betelgeuse, and the birds took it as a guide.
