Belgium will build the world's first artificial island with an area of about six hectares in the North Sea, on which it will place wind power facilities. They will link the offshore wind farm to the onshore power grid. The foundation of the island will begin to be built in 2024. After that, around 2026, high-voltage infrastructure will be installed.
