The head of Tesla has already tried to recruit Igor Babushkin, a former Alphabet researcher from the DeepMind AI division. According to Reuters, Musk and Babushkin discussed the creation of a team. It is noteworthy that OpenAI itself is a project in which Musk was one of the co-founders until 2018.
