Scientists are close to creating a super-powerful quantum computer.

A team from the University of Sussex has developed a system capable of transferring information from one chip to another with 99.999993% reliability at record speeds. This, the researchers say, shows that the chips can be connected together to create a more powerful quantum computer. Potentially, this technology can be used in any area, including the creation of drugs through accurate simulation of chemical reactions, weather forecasting or analysis of the possible effects of climate change.
