Penguins recognize themselves in the mirror.

Indian researchers have found that Adélie penguins in Antarctica are somewhat self-aware. To do this, they used the so-called mirror test, during which the subjects are shown their reflection and observe the reaction. Not all penguins actively reacted to their reflections, but some moved as if they were studying themselves.
