NASA is seriously planning construction on the Moon and Mars.

They have already signed a contract with ICON, which specializes in 3D printing of houses. The contract amount is $57 million, and the goal is to build roads on the moon. Moreover, ICON will print the lunar infrastructure from the lunar regolith - the residual soil that is weathered from the rock. That is, concrete and asphalt will not need to be transported from the Earth, all building materials will be found right on the spot. And finally, the contract was signed until 2028. That is, we are not talking about the distant future, but about the coming years.
