These are retinal organelles from stem cells of healthy donors and blind people. The biomaterial will help investigate Usher's syndrome, a congenital disease that leads to loss of vision and hearing. The first experiments with an artificial retina have already shown that vision degrades with the participation of Muller cells - they are in the eyes of all mammals. In people with Usher syndrome, they react abnormally to stress - the mechanism of protein utilization is disrupted.
