Women are better than men at crossword puzzles and playing scrabble.

Indicators of verbal fluency and verbal episodic memory are higher in women than in men. This means that they quickly recall and select words, especially those starting with a particular letter. Therefore, women are better at solving crossword puzzles and playing scrabble. These conclusions were reached by Norwegian scientists after a meta-analysis of 168 studies over the past 50 years, in which a total of 350,000 people participated.
