When a man shares plans, he needs to see interest and support. If you point out the possible risks and doubt the realism of the plans, you cut off his wings. Encourage him to set himself challenging goals and take on challenges. If in doubt, come back to the conversation a little later. Perhaps during this time he will have time to think over the idea better and agree with the comments.
