Hold your interlocutor's attention by changing your speech pace.

If you speak in a MONOTONE, even when giving interesting and important information, your interlocutor will not capture the essence of your words. Change your speech tempo, like a composer changes the tempo of a piece of music. Use chunking and make pauses. It will make your speech sound coherent, clear and interesting.
