The Belgian Ministry of Justice decided to conduct an experiment - 55 prosecutors and judges sat in a new prison in Brussels for a while to test the conditions of detention and feel like prisoners. It is expected that after that they will issue more reasonable sentences. While the new 1200-seat prison has not yet opened, there are no real criminals in it.
