Loving men increases the risk of developing eating disorders.

Sexual attraction to men is a risk factor for developing eating disorders. These conclusions were reached by Spanish scientists in the course of a survey of 400 homo- and heterosexual men and women. Researchers have found that eating disorders and their symptoms are more common in heterosexual women and gay men than in lesbians and heterosexual men. Also, gays and women of different orientations are more likely to dislike their bodies. At the same time, the former strive for thinness more. The results can be explained by the fact that, regardless of their sexual orientation, men pay more attention to the physical attractiveness of their partners than women - and they strive to meet the "ideals".
