Candaulism and swinger sex have some similarities, but are they still different? Swinger sex is all about exchanging partners. This applies to one person or couple only. In candaulism there is no exchange of partners, as one simply observes. Only one of the two partners will enjoy sex with someone else or another couple while the other one watches their love game. The exchange does not take place. The roles are clearly defined. Moreover, candaulism does not necessarily involve an open relationship. After all, pleasure does not involve cheating, but is born from watching the sexual act.
