Riding a scooter proved to be more traumatic than riding a motorcycle.
These conclusions were made by French scientists in the course of a study involving five thousand people who, in the past three years, went to hospitals with injuries after an accident. During the observation period, the number of affected drivers of electric scooters has quadrupled. They had serious traumatic brain injuries in 45.5% of cases, and in motorcyclists - in 39.7%. Overall, people on scooters are twice as likely to experience head injuries, as only a quarter of them wear a helmet. In this case, death occurs in 9% of cases.
