BYD Co. closes in on Tesla as global leader in electric car sales
Falling sales for Tesla bring BYD Co. closer to becoming the world's largest seller of electric cars, as the Chinese automaker gains momentum in the global market. As of September 30th, BYD has sold 431,603 fully electric vehicles, which is a 23% increase from the previous quarter. Meanwhile, Tesla delivered 435,059 electric cars in the same quarter, resulting in a gap of 3,456 vehicles between the companies.
